Mentor Apprentice Program

300-Hour Intermediate Mentor Apprentice Program

The Yukon Native Langauge Centre launched an intensive 300-Hour Intermediate Mentor Apprentice Program in February 2024. Mentor Apprentice Programs, often referred to as MAP, provide one-on-one learning opportunities for langauge learners to grow their conversational, oral proficiency. With a strong focus on learning together through traditional and daily activities through immersion, MAP brings language back into the home and into learners everyday lives.

The below 300-Hour Intermediate Mentor Apprentice Program Draft Handbook helps students plan their program and immersion sets, track speaker and study hours, and provides background information on immersion, tips and tricks to getting over plateaus, and the the MAP approach.

Applications are now closed for the 2024 Intermediate Mentor Apprentice Program
