Associate of Applied Science Degree in Native Language Education

The University of Alaska Fairbanks in conjunction with the Yukon Native Language Centre has established a program leading to the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Native Language Education. This is for Native Language teachers who would like to continue their training and obtain a university degree. Graduates of the Diploma program receive credit toward the AAS degree and are able to complete other requirements by attending UAF during the summer months. To date, eight Yukoners have obtained the AAS degree: Jane Montgomery, Lorraine Allen, Ann Mercier, Bessie Cooley, Margaret Workman, Vivian Smith, Linda Harvey, and Mary Jane Allison.
